It's the last, look like we have to say "Goodbye"
The real final blog comes. I don't know what to say, but I'll do my best. I'd learned this subject for one period. I don't really care that it's short or long time, but there is something when its end. It's always feel bad when we need to grow up? Can I use this word? I mean things have changed while we're the same as the old day. I couldn't really say that I got a bit of new knowledge of this class. What this class taught me was what I'd already known but it classify them into groups and made me made me understand why it must be like that. It was easy, moderate, or hard...I don't know. I'm good at speaking, not writing. Sometimes there will be some word you can't just write it on the note, but you need to say it by your mouth. Every lesson has taught me new things like the discourse marker, the technical terms,or how to classify the similar things like the recount and the narrative. "A Discourse Approach in Reading" class teaches me one of the world's fact, it's always painful to say goodbye.
Finally, the last lesson

Hello again. This the last lesson, but it's not the last post yet. Ms.Usa ordered us to make one post named, "Leaning Reflection" , so there is still one post left. This last lesson is about "Problem and Solution". It's about how to find the point of the problem and how to solve it. The easiest example one is about the teen pregnancies. The problem is the teen pregnancies and the most solution you've think is birth control. No matter does it cost such as various types of birth control medicine or even abort. As you know abort is the worst case, therefore what is the best case. I'll tell you...it's abstinence. We can protect the teenager from teen pregnancies-by the teaching them about the abstinence. So you see that the problem is teen pregnancies and the solution are birth control and abstinence. This lesson is pretty simple think, and you'll see the image if you creating the diagram. "Problem and Solution" for me? It's just that, nothing serious.
What does it mean?

Oh god, I'd just spent all day long with "English Class". So tired... (Week9)
As the title told you, I had to learn English class with Ms.Usa for all of this day because of we didn't finish the "Comparison and Contrast" last week. We finished "Comparison and Contrast" lesson with easy tests about the article, Men and Women : Do They Speak the Same Language? The article said that men and women have different ways of life. They have different shape, duty, attitude, even speaking language's style. Therefore, they must have their own way to solve the problem that they've created. Although they're willing or not. But the content about their solving way is not important, the important things are the differences between men and women because we were studying "Comparison and Contrast" now. After we finished "Comparison and Contrast" lesson, we began to study the "Exemplification" lesson. It's about giving the specific, vivid examples to make people understand or see the image of thing that they never meet or know it. Then Ms.Usa gave us exercises about the "Exemplification" lesson. They're matching exercises. They give us the examples which are hiding in the paragraphs, so we needed to find and match examples with places which are the examples refer to. It was pretty easy, but I think that it's a little bit challenge my ability because the paragraph is very long.
Why do you need to compare me with each other!!? (Week8)
Ah ha--- Don't be tricked by the title yet. I use this title because of I'd just learned "Comparison and contrast" lesson. "Comparison and contrast" is a lesson about how to tell the similar part and the different part of animal people and things. We began the class by studying the definition of "Comparison and contrast". After that, we got simple examples about "Comparison and contrast" from Ms.Usa. They are "Orange and Apple", "New York Station and Paris Station", and "The different of two most destructive hurricane", so we began to compare them with shape, surface, look, taste, result, and overall image. These simple examples give me a vivid overall image of "Comparison and contrast". It isn't hard to understand, but it's hard to find a word to tell the similar part and the different part. For me, I think it's pretty easy. However, I'm still feel very sleepy in this class which I don't know why. Even they're amusingly lesson.

Procedure, it's not just that end! (Week7)
Last week, I was fight with the procedure lesson and the procedure video task from Ms.Usa. But, it wasn't end yet. This week, my partner, Yok and I had to present my procedure video in front of the room. we were so shy, but it looked like its all went well. But before we presented my video, Ms.Usa taught me and my friends first. Ms.Usa taught us that the procedure is a solution. It can explain how that thing become this thing and it can use not only food but also thing except people. So, Ms.Usa showed us that we always use some technique to learn, but we don't know that is the procedure too. We use procedure to learn everything. We use procedure to learn not only English language subject but also all of the subject we had learned. It could say that we use procedure to do every thing in our life. As Ms.Usa explained, I felt that procedure is really important. Then Ms.Usa gave us some trick to make the procedure more effect. They're be positive, keep practice, and write down what you've done and its result.
Procedure...Food? (Week 6)
I was pretty
busy because a lot of work didn't finish yet. However, I needed to update my
blog now. On week 6, I studied "Procedure".
It's about how to make things and the most simply example is food. I'd got
"Banana Cake", "Banana Shake" ,and "Chicken Soup"
procedure for example. After we finished the class, Ms.Usa gave us a task to
make a procedure video about how to make food, so we needed to think which one
we should choose. The bad thing was my partner, Yok and I was not good at
cooking, so we tried to choose the easiest one like "Omelet".
However, we thought "Omelet" was too easy, therefore our score might
be low. So, we did "Omelet" in new style and called it "Variety
Egg". It was pretty easy to do. You just needed one messy thing, the Takoyaki
Maker Machine. To do the "Variety Egg", you will need eggs,
seasoning, minced hams, minced crab sticks, butter, bowls, chopsticks, spoons,
and Takoyaki Maker Machine. First, crack
the egg into the bowl and add some seasoning as you want. Next, mix the mixture
well. Then, turn on the Takoyaki Maker Machine and let it heat for five
minutes. After that, put some butter on to the Takoyaki Maker Machine as the
oil. Then, put the mixture into the machine holes, but don't fill until it
full. Next, add some minced hams and minced crab stick on the top of the
mixture, then add some mixture to cover it. After that, wait for it cooked
around three to five minutes. Then, put it out from the machine, and put
it on to the dish. The last step,
decorate the dish, and then it should be ready to serve now. Yok and I tasted
it together. We prefer to taste it with tomato sauce, and the taste is great.
This lesson is surely make me pretty busy, but it's pretty fun too.

Facing with "Descriptive" (Week5)
I'd been missing so long for some personal reasons but I'm back. Today, I'll tell you about the things I've learned in the fifth week. It's about the descriptive. Descriptive topic is about how to describe things like "What does it look like?" As you know, we can describe almost everything. Whether it's inside or outside the world such as people, animals ,come, etc. We began the class by taking easy test. It might be an easy test. The test was about the "Komodo Lizard monitor". Ms.Usa told us describe it so we needed to try on our own to explain "What does it look like?" To tell the truth, I really think it's an ordinary lizard monitor which can normally see in Thailand. We could easily answer that test but the real one was await us. The real test was to explain "what does your favorite person in the room look like?" and "what do you look like?" To explain two of these is pretty easy for me but the hard past was to explain my favorite person. You might not know but my girl friend was sitting next to me so what if I explain what does she look like in a not properly way. I don't want to think about what will happen to me.

Still Train to Be the Narrator..? (Week4)
As you know, I learned about the narrative last week, and I had also learned it this week. This week was about how to reach the main idea of the story and how to summarize the story. The story that Ms.Usa used to teach us about the narrative this week, named Secret. Ms.Usa only used the Secret Part 1 to teach us this week and she's plan to use Secret Part 2 to teach us next week. The story Secret is about the girl, named Kylie, and she lives with her mother and her step father, named Philip in the new house. One day, Kylie found an egg ,so she keep it as her secret. Then, she found another eggs and chickens in the yard behind her house. It looks pretty easy to keep this secret, but the hard part is not for Kylie. The hard part is for me to reach the main idea of this story and summarize this story, and this surely made me mad. Ouch! I've got headache! Arrgh !!!

Becoming the Narrator!!!? (Week3)
Here was an extra class because Ms.Usa got something to do on the next Monday and that's why we got the class today so the calm free time of mine in this afternoon had gone. I came to the class with the great feeling of sleepy but can't sleep in the class because if I do I'll get one minus point every time I fall as sleep...Oh I wanna cry and we got to learn the new lesson today...Please introduce Mr. or Ms. or I don't know Narrative. Narrative is one of the genres and they will come like a series of event as same as the Recount. Not only come in the same way as the Recount but also has a little bit of different. The different between the Recount and the Narrative is the Recount will tell about our experience in the past but the Narrative can tell every story even it's just a dream or imagine. The Narrative has three part as same as the Recount and the first part is also the Orientation that use to tell about the back ground of the story as same but the second part is different. The second of the Narrative is the Complication so what is the Complication? Complication is some sort of the matter or the problem to arise and make the story more and more interesting and the last is the Resolution. Resolution is the part that will tell the reader about how the story end and how the character's life going after the end of the story
Recount Attack!!! (Week 2)
Ah..this morning, Wake up late!!! That was horrible because if I late on Ms.Usa's class, I'll get one point minus. Meh..there is nothing I could do only just accepted that. it was my fault. Lucky that Ms.Usa didn't lock the room like the other teacher just minus my point so I still could learned in this class. Today, the lesson is about the Recount. Recount is one of the genres that use to tell our story in the past so all the tense should be in the past. It looked easy so I no need to worried. Recount has three main part and the first is Orientation. Orientation is the first part of the Recount that will tell the reader about the background of the story and the second is the Event. Event is the part that will tell about what happens in the story and the next is the Reorientation. Reorientation is the last part of the Recount. It'll tell us about the end of the story and the opinion of the writer about the story. Hmm...Just three easy part. I mean it's easy only for those who can understand the meaning of the paragraph of the story because if you what is the thing that paragraphs try to tell you, I'm surly that you can easily tell which paragraph is the Orientation, Event, or Reorientation.

Fist Encounter (Week1)
A little bit late for writing this weblog...Okay...Let's start. We meet again after a long time that I stopped to write this weblog. However, I come back...maybe for a while or continuously. This blog is about my "Learning Reflection" so I will tell you from now on about what happened in my first week in this "A Discourse Approach in Reading"class. In the first week, My friends and I met the teacher of this subject, Ms.Usa Noytim. After we introduced ourselves to each other, Ms.Usa gave us the "Course Syllabus" to let us know about what we will learn in this class and then we suddenly started to learn. The first thing she taught us is the different genres of text. Look at this...
Different genres of text:
1. Recount
2. Narrative
3. Description
4. Procedure
5. Comparison and Contrast
6. Cause / Effect
7. Definition
8. Classification
9. Exemplification
10. Problem solving
(All of this just look a little bit confuse about how to tell what genres they are.)
We got some trick to tell what genres they are. It's "Discourse Markers". After we got this trick, we got the test to see if we are really understand this trick. In the test, we got six types of genres that we needed to handle it. It's Cause/Effect, Definition, Procedure, Classification, Problem solving, and Comparison and Contrast. After we did the test, We found that it's not that hard to tell what genres they are. Look like most of us get this trick. After that we got some test again about "Conjunction" in the paragraphs and it made me a little bit confuse to me. I just mixed the "Conjunction" with the "Discourse makers". For me, I think that the Conjunction is easy and the Different genres of text is moderately difficult but I already noted about how to separate the test or paragraph to the right genre. Now, I'm okay with this lesson and nothing is the problem to me except the feeling sleepy!!!
